We were greeted at the airport by two very proud grandparents who were thrilled to see Evie Lu grinning from ear to ear as she wheeled toward baggage claim. It must be due to Evie Lu seeing people all the time, but it still amazes me her first instinct is to smile at just about everyone. Once she caught sight of Grandpa Wayne and Grandma Bev she kept up the grinning and added talking to the mix. The last leg of our journey was the drive to the farm.
Evangeline won't remember this first visit of course, but I was glad she was in the house that holds so many memories for Kaia and her family. Ambush the cat was curious about Evie Lu and although we worried a bit, the cat and baby kept their distance from each other.

Remember how that cradle got placed in Kaia & Will's room? Kaia was all nervous about the hidden implied message, but Mom reminded us that hers was the only room it could feasibly go in. I'm glad it's seeing some use. Kaia & Will, thanks for filling it - it buys me at least a couple years! ;)
Golly, there is NO pressure! We want you first to be a couple before you are parents. Marriage is hard enough without adding parenting to the mix! If you remember, once Kaia expressed concern, the cradle was removed from their room. Really...there were no hidden or overt messages! However, don't get me wrong...it's absolutely thrilling to be Grandma! It was a powerful moment to lay Evangeline in the cradle that held Kaitlin just a couple of minutes ago (so it seems).
