Saturday was a banner day for our little family as we went hunting for a pumpkin to carve. Evie Lu saw it as just another trip in the car until we spotted the perfect pumpkin for us. (Did we go to a pumpkin patch? No, we went to the store. Next year we'll try a little harder.) This pumpkin was a little larger than what Kaia and I had planned on getting, but it was a good looking gourd.
Oh, this old thing? This is my pumpkin. I'm the only one who can touch it.
The crack up was seeing Evie Lu once we got home. Evangeline loved the pumpkin and was a little upset when I scooted her away as Kaia wiped it down. As Evie Lu saw it, the pumpkin was a climbing tool, a great drum, and it was a texture that fascinated her. The first few pictures we took of Evie Lu and the great pumpkin seem to capture our daughter protecting the pumpkin.
We've got the whole saga documented, so stay tuned for the cleaning and carving. Also a winner was chosen for the caption from Friday's post. Check it out.
Dear pumpkin, where have you been my whole life?
