So what do you get for one Evangeline Lucille? Yesterday the mail brought us the bill for Evangeline's delivery and two day stay. Not the bill for the doctors, nurses or anesthesiologists mind you, just the bill for the room, the drugs, and something called "Daily Service." So, what else could you get for the delivery of one Evangeline?
Skeins of soft baby princess yarn – 1705
(Which would make 852.5 baby cardigans or 426 baby blankets.)
Luvs Diapers (86 pack) – 828 (Which smell funny, so we don't reccomend them.)
CDs (at $15) – 773
Lg Gourmet Seattle Pizzas – 682
New Cubs Baseball Caps - 464
NIV Study Bibles – 439
Playstation 2 Video Games - 291
Brock Biology of Microorganisms 11th ed (Textbook) – 75
Flights to see grandparents – 29
American Fender Strat Electric Guitars - 12
Rent – 11.6 months
40” LCD Flat Panel TVs – 8
Would we trade her for any of these things? Not a chance. She is worth every penny spent and every penny Kaia and I have from here on out.

They just keep costing more and more...and you'd think they'd get cheaper when you add #'s 2 and 3, but just when you think you can re-use baby clothes, you get a pink one, then a blue one, then a pink one again after you've given away all the pink clothes...that and diapers never get cheaper :) But, their smiles stay precious, and well, there's always a college scholarship to look forward to if you spend enough time (also at a premium) teaching them important stuff like organic chemistry and calculus and things (and then comes 2nd grade...)
Lots of love from our family - growing every year!

Great. You've just gone one more step towards making me second-guess making a baby of my own. 11 1/2 months of rent for one baby? Wow. Maybe I'll just get another cat.
...of course, then I see her smiles and how joyful she makes you look... ugh, gimme some time. It'll sink in.
