So our great friend Ken sent a package to us last week. In this package were gifts for Evangeline, Kaia and myself. After I watched the mail carrier literally toss the package onto our porch and heard something glass like, we cautiously opened the box.
The caution was not due to fear of a broken gift, although it turned out Kaia's gift was broken. No, Ken is a St. Louis Cardinals fan and the gifts he sends are often Cardinals propaganda against my beloved Cubs and so we opened the box slowly.
Ken sent a Cubs pint glass for me (bearing in mind a year and a half ago he gave me a Cardinals glass for my birthday), a Minnesota Twins mug for Kaia (which came in 12 pieces instead of the intended one), and for Evangeline booties and a bib featuring the phrase "little St. Louis Cardinals fan."
As you can see, Evangeline is thrilled to wear this . . . but I wonder about the note she added.
